The probe into the sensational firing case outside YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 champion Elvish Yadav Gurugram home has seen a dramatic turn. Haryana Police on Friday arrested the primary accused, Ishant alias Ishu Gandhi, following a dramatic gun battle in Faridabad. Gandhi was hit by a bullet on his leg during the shootout and is now under hospital treatment in the tight grip of police custody.
Early Morning Attack Outside Yadav’s Home
The gun attack that terrified the fans and the public at large took place early Sunday morning. Three men on a motorcycle and wearing masks came to Yadav’s house in Sector 56, Gurugram at around 5:30am and fired indiscriminately outside his house. Witnesses and CCTV footage showed that about 15 to 30 shots were fired before the bakras made their departure.
The shooting fortunately did not cause any injuries. Elvish Yadav himself was not home when the crime occurred, but family members were at home. CCTV footage later identified three attackers and two were very clearly identifiable.

Family’s Reaction and Police Response
Rav Avtar Yadav, Yadav’s father, confirmed that they were home when the shooting occurred. “We were at home when it happened. I was sleeping when it happened. The police are doing their job and we trust they will do their job,” he said.
After the shooting, Haryana Police quickly arranged added security around Yadav’s home and searched for the attackers. The investigation was continuing when police were able to trace the affiliation of the gunman to organized crime crews in the area.
Gang Connection Surfaces
Shortly after the shooting, the Himanshu Bhau gang took credit for the assault. In a menacing message, the gang accused Elvish Yadav of promoting betting apps, which they said had “destroyed several families.” The allegation put the potential for organized crime involvement into sharp relief.
Law enforcement authorities are now attempting to determine if the attack was against Yadav specifically as a threat to his life or if it was a wider part of a scheme of intimidation or extortion carried out by the gang. Sources say the gang could conduct a few high-end extortion rackets over the past few years in Haryana and particularly in Delhi-NCR.

Arrest of Prime Suspect
The arrest of Ishu Gandhi is regarded as a big breakthrough in the case. Police has reported that Gandhi, who is a notorious criminal and has several cases already registered against him, was intercepted while a police raid was being conducted in Faridabad. When challenged, he fired at the police, and a return of fire was given. Gandhi was shot in the leg and quickly overpowered by the team.
Police confirmed that he was charged with attempted murder, possession of weapons and conspiracy. Interrogation will determine the involvement of the other suspects and the reasoning behind the attack.
Elvish Yadav’s Response
Elvish Yadav, a social media star who gained traction after winning Bigg Boss OTT 2, quickly eased his fans’ concerns after the incident. “My family and I are safe and well. Thank you for the kind thoughts and concerns,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
The influencer thanked his fans while asking them not to panic. His message was widely circulated, with his fans and other influencers showing solidarity in this difficult situation.
Widening Investigation
With the arrest of Gandhi, police feel that they are near to solving the case. However, top officials have underlined that the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are inevitable. Officials are also probing if Yadav had been threatened prior to the firing and if extortion calls were made on behalf of the Himanshu Bhau gang.
A top police official in Gurugram stated, “This is not one incident. We are investigating the larger criminal group and potential extortion rings. The arrest of the shooter is a huge step, but by no means is the case closed.”
Public Concern and Security Measures
The crime has heightened concerns regarding increasing activities of organized crime gangs in the Delhi-NCR area. For people living in Sector 56, where Yadav lives, they have been demanding greater security and increased patrols by the police. To this end, Gurugram Police is also deploying more staff in weak points, and have vowed for tough action against anybody involved in the crime.
Looking Ahead
The intimidation technique used by assailants frightened Yadav and his family, and with the enforcement action on that day and the arrest of the main suspect, it has given them some comfort; however, the assault has spotlighted the growing threat to public figures from criminal gangs wanting money or influence.
As further investigations continue, all eyes are on how Haryana Police will unravel the web of individuals behind the attack and deliver justice for the high-profile attack.
